Govt readies 5 Dhaka hospitals for Covid patients

The government has instructed five hospitals of the capital to make arrangements for treating Covid-19 patients on emergency basis.

The hospitals are – Lalkuthi Hospital at Mirpur; Dhaka Mahanagar Hospital at Babu Bazar; Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital at Mohammadpur; DNCC Corona Isolation Centre at Mohakhali; and Government Employee's Hospital at Fulbaria.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issued a notice in this regard on Monday.

In the face of continued increase in coronavirus infections, the decision was taken to tackle any possible adverse situation, reads the notice.

In a separate notice, the ministry instructed Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) to launch treatment service to the Covid-19 patients.
