Faruque Hassan and his wife who has also contracted the virus are taking treatment from home

Faruque Hassan, managing director of Giant Group, was diagnosed with Covid-19 positive on Saturday.

Shahidullah Azim, former vice president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) told the Business Standard today. 

He said,"Faruque Hassan and his wife who has also contracted the virus are taking treatment from home."

"They are doing well as of now."

Faruque Hassan has recently been nominated as panel leader of Sammilita Parishad for the next BGMEA election in 2021.

Sammilita Parishad, a panel of BGMEA registered members, announced its panel leaders' names for the next BGMEA election . Faruque Hassan will lead the panel in the election. 

Faruque Hassan is a former vice president of the apparel trade body. He also served as president of the Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industries. 

Currently, he serves as honorary consul general of Greece in Bangladesh.

The BGMEA's next election is scheduled to be held at the end of March or early April, according to apparel sector leaders.
