The Directorate General of Health Services' (DGHS) former director (Dentistry) Dr Nazrul Islam died from Covid-19 in Dhaka on Sunday night.

"He had died while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit in icddr,b," Dr Rahat Anowar Chowdhury, joint secretary of the Foundation for Doctors Safety, Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR), told The Business Standard. 

He said, "Dr Nazrul Islam was undergoing treatment in the capital's icddr,b after he tested positive for Covid-19."

"His physical condition was deteriorating since yesterday afternoon," he added.

Dr Nazrul Islam was a student of the 12th batch of Dhaka Dental College.
