Environment minister tests Covid-19 positive

Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Sahab Uddin tested positive to the novel coronavirus today. He is the fourth minister of the government to test positive for Covid-19 in the country.

"Since the environment minister started showing symptoms of Covid-19, his sample was sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research (IEDCR) for coronavirus testing on Tuesday. The test result came positive today," a press release from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change says. 

The minister will be admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for treatment today.

Earlier on June 6, Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing was tested positive for Covid-19. He was taken to CMH the next day for better treatment, and recovered on June 24. 

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque also tested positive for Covid-19 on June 12. He got admitted to the Combined Military Hospital and recovered on June 22. 

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi also tested positive to the virus on June 17. He got admitted to the capital's Evercare Hospital (formerly known as Apollo Hospitals) and recovered on June 27.
