All educational institutions must ensure hand washing facilities before reopening, said the Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni.

She made the remark at a virtual roundtable discussion on the occasion of Global Handwashing Day 2020 organised by the Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL).

Senior Journalist Shymal Dutta was the moderator of the webinar titled- "H for Handwashing - A Protected Hand Means a Protected Nation".  

Emphasising on the handwashing campaign, the minister said, "We are including handwashing as one of the important protective measures of Covid-19 in the textbook."

"Training at different levels should also touch upon the significance of the issue," she added.

Among others, Kedar Lele, chairman and managing director of Unilever Bangladesh Limited; Reefat Bin Sattar, director of programme development and quality of Save the Children Bangladesh; Asif Saleh, executive director of BRAC; Orla Murphy, country director of Plan International Bangladesh; Hasin Jahan, country director of WaterAid Bangladesh and Dara Johnston of UNICEF were present in the programme.
