A physician died with Covid-19 symptoms while undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital on Friday night.

The deceased doctor named Arif Hossain was a private medical practitioner.  His chamber was in Pahartali. He lived with his family in the port city.

Dr AMM Minhazur Rahman, central organising secretary of Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (Swachip), said, "Dr Arif Hossain had all symptoms of Covid-19. As his oxygen saturation dropped, he was taken to Treatment Hospital and later to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. However, his sample has not been tested for coronavirus."

Dr Arif was a student of the 49th batch of Dhaka Medical College.
