The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has fined a remarkable number of people at different spots under its jurisdiction for breaching lockdown restrictions.

It operated mobile courts and collected a total fine of Tk 49,600 all day long, said a press release.

At the same time, some 53 cases were filed over the incidents.

According to the release, the mobile courts collected a total of taka 2200 in 8 cases filed in zone-1, taka 1500 in 7 cases in zone 2, taka 15600 in 6 cases in zone 3, taka 3800 in in 8 cases in zone 4, taka 8900 in 7 cases in zone 5, taka 6500 in 7 cases in zone 6, taka 4000 in 3 cases in zone 7 and taka 7500 in 7 cases in zone 8.

During the drives, the authorities urged everyone to follow health and safety guidelines properly while visiting kitchen markets for buying daily essentials and during times of emergency. 

They also urged kitchen market businesspersons to set up shop at open places to avoid excess clustering of people in enclosed places.
