Fisheries and Livestock Ministry has instructed the district and upazila fisheries officers to take necessary steps to distribute fishes along with the relief items as the coronavirus outbreaks affected the fishery business.

An official order signed by the Deputy Director (Additional) of the department Mohammad Sirajur Rahman also asked the local officers to take proper steps to facilitate online selling of fishes.

"Buyers are not going to the crowded market for Covid-19 fear. The fish farmers are facing losses as they cannot sell the fishes they produce. In the current situation, everyone will be benefited if they can buy and sell fish online," according to the issued order.

The order also stated that social distance has to be maintained in the regular market amid the pandemic.

Recently, the fisheries officers of Homna Upazila of Comilla distributed fishes along with other relief materials in the area.
