DGHS revokes Covid-19 testing permission of 5 institutes
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has revoked the coronavirus testing permission of five hospitals and diagnostic centres.
These institutes are - Sahabuddin Medical College Hospital, Care Medical College, Stemz Healthcare, Thaicare Diagnostic and Chattogram's Epic Healthcare.
The hospitals received letters, signed by DGHS Additional Director General Prof Nasima Sultana, on Sunday afternoon.
"Although you got permission to conduct Covid-19 RT-PCR test, but you failed to start the testing. Your Covid-19 testing permission is temporarily revoked," the letter read.
To get the permission back, the institutes have to submit another application after preparing the laboratories for Covid-19 sample testing. They will also need to take "no objection certificate" from Directorate General of Drug Administration for imported Covid-19 testing kits.
The final decision of giving them back the permission will depend on the DGHS field visit at the facility, it read further.
