Md Fakhrul Kabir breathed his last at around 2:30 am at Square Hospitals in Dhaka

Md Fakhrul Kabir, director of the Department of Women Affairs, died from Covid-19 early Tuesday.

Alamgir Hossain, senior information officer of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.

Md Fakhrul Kabir breathed his last at around 2:30 am at Square Hospitals in Dhaka.

He was a joint secretary and belonged to the 13th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).

Fakhrul was tested positive for coronavirus in the first week of June and was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital after his condition deteriorated. He was shifted to Square Hospitals on Monday.
