Bangladesh on Monday saw an alarming growth in the number of Covid-19 cases as 5,181 people were diagnosed with the disease in 24 hours

Covid-19 infection rate is higher in 29 districts of the country with a notable number of cases being recorded in Chattogram, Narayanganj, Feni and Chandpur, said Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Additional Director General Meerjady Sabrina Flora. 

"There is a committee that analyses the rate of infection, the severity of symptoms. They sort out which districts are at high risk, and then, we take action accordingly," she said during a press briefing in the capital.

Meanwhile, Health Ministry today advised the government to enforce partial lockdown in the areas where infections are high to prevent the novel coronavirus outbreak.

Besides, the government has imposed a set of new restrictions amid the rising cases of Coronavirus in the country.
