Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Management and Staff contributed one month basic salary of Tk25 lakh to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

CSE Chairman Asif Ibrahim on Sunday handed over the cheque to Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, the principal secretary of Sheikh Hasina at the Prime minister's office.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present at the cheque handover ceremony.

At that time, the CSE Chairman urged the Prime Minister to consider the CSE's request of Tk1,050 crore stimulus package for retail investors and brokerage houses.

Asif Ibrahim said CSE has taken the responsibility of 4000 destitute families in Chattogram during the pandemic.

Lauding the Prime Minister's frontline leadership during the pandemic, he said: "We are inspired by you and together as a nation we shall overcome this crisis".

CSE Managing Director Mamun Ur Rashid was also present in the occasion.
