Bangladesh logged 22 more deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Monday at 8am.

The country's death toll from the virus now stands at 7,803, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services.

In the meantime, 849 people have been tested positive for Covid-19. The number of novel coronavirus cases in the country now stands at 523,302.

During the same period, 917 patients were declared free of Covid-19, raising the total number of recoveries to 4,67,718.

Meanwhile, 14,097 samples were tested in 181 labs across the country in the past 24 hours. A total of 3,371,416 samples have been tested in the country so far.

Among the latest day's victims, 15 were men and seven were women. Twenty-one of them died in different hospitals across the country and one at home.

Moreover, 18 of them hailed from Dhaka, two from Chattogram, one each from Rajshahi and Sylhet division.

The country's first Covid-19 case was reported on 8 March this year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
