However, a recovered Covid-19 patient in Narsingdi tested positive again six days after recovery

Two Covid-19 patients in Barguna and 17 in Narsingdi have recovered and returned home.

Our Bogura correspondent reported that two patients in Barguna Sadar upazila, who are 62 and 35, also recovered from Covid-19.

According to Barguna Sadar Hospital, the 62-year-old patient came to Barguna after being infected with Covid-19 while he was with a Tabligh Jamaat group in Dhaka.

The 35-year-old patient came to the district after he was infected at his workplace in Kachpur in Narayanganj.

Both of them tested positive on April 11 and were kept in the isolation unit at Barguna General Hospital.

Dr Kamrul Azad, head of Barguna General Hospital isolation ward and sole junior consultant for Covid-19 patients in the district, said, "They have recovered because they were provided treatment in time."

He also said they recovered some days ago but the report of the last test reached late.

The recovered patients said their relatives stayed aloof from them after they knew of their Covid-19 infection. However, they thanked the health workers for their wholehearted support risking their own lives.

Barguna General Hospital Director Dr Shohrab Uddin said they tried their best to provide proper treatment under continuous monitoring. The credit goes to the doctors, nurses and other staffs of the hospital.

Meanwhile, our Narsingdi correspondent reported that 17 Covid-19 patients, who were in the isolation unit of Narsingdi 100-bed General Hospital for 10 days, have been released after the two tests came negative, said Dr MN Mizanur Rahman, the resident physician of the hospital.

Fourteen of them are health workers.

However, the first Covid-19 patient in the district Mufti Shamim Mia, who recovered on April 16, tested positive again on April 22. He is from Islampur village of Danga union in Palash upazila.

Palash Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farhana Ali confirmed the matter.
