14 health workers of Mymenshingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) including five doctors tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.

The Principal of the MMCH Dr Chittaranjan Debnath said, "Some 188 samples were tested in the lab of the Microbiology Department of the hospital. Of them, 34 tested positive for COVID-19."

Among the COVID-19 positive patients, 14 are from the hospital including five doctors and several nurses and staffs, he said.

The other COVID-19 patients are from Mymensingh town 1, Muktagacha 2, Haluaghat 1, Fulbaria 1, Fulpur 2, Trishal 1, Jamalpur 7, Netrakona 4 and Tangail 1.

Dr Laxmi Narayan Majumder, deputy director of the hospital, said, "Many patients come to the hospital. Many of them are not sure if they are infected by coronavirus or not. Doctors, nurses and staffs of the hospitals were infected with the virus while giving treatment to the patients."
