To support the government's efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Bangladesh leasing and finance companies association (BLFCA) donated Tk9.5 crore to the Prime Minister's Relief and Welfare Fund.

Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to Prime Minister, received the donation cheque on behalf of the Prime Minister at the PM office in the capital, said a media statement on Thursday.

Prime Minister joined the ceremony through a video conferencing and thanked the BLFCA delegation for their contributions to the relief fund.

Out of the amount, Tk2.4 crore from IDLC Finance, Tk2 crore from IPDC Finance, Tk2 crore from LankaBangla Finance, and Tk1.5 crore from Uttara Finance were donated to the fund.

Other BLFCA organisations contributed a total of Tk 1.6 crore to the fund of which Tk50 lakh came from the Phoenix Finance. 

On behalf of BLFCA, Md Abdul Karim, chairman, IPDC Finance, Kazi M Aminul Islam, founder chairman of Meridian Finance, Arif Khan, managing director, IDLC Finance, and Shamsul Arefin, managing director, Uttara Finance were present on the occasion.
