Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has formed six committees to inspect health safety of factory members amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Six directors of the association will lead the monitoring of factories in six different zones of the country to curb the novel Covid-19 spread in apparel factories, Md Mohiuddin Rubel, a director of Denim Expert Limited told The Business Standard on Thursday.

"We will pay sudden visits to factories of the following zones, Dhaka Metropolitan, Savar, Ashulia, two zones in Gazipur, and Narayanganj and Narshingdi," he added.

On Wednesday, four RMG workers of Chattogram, Rangpur, Jashore and Pirojpur have tested positive with the novel coronavirus after they resumed working amid the current pandemic situation.

BGMEA later advised the workers not to hide any symptoms, saying no one should be worried about losing their jobs if they are infected or have early symptoms of the novel coronavirus.
