Seven officials of the branch have tested positive for the novel coronavirus
The Gazipur Chowrasta branch of BASIC Bank has been locked down after seven officials of the branch, including its manager, tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
"All activities of the branch have been temporarily suspended," says a circular signed by the Branch Control Division's Deputy General Manager Md Mahabubul Alam.
Some of the Covid-19 infected bank officials are undergoing treatment at several hospitals in Gazipur and Dhaka, while some others are taking treatment from their homes.
Earlier on June 1, the Islampur branch of BASIC Bank was also placed under lockdown for the same reason.
