As part of the move to fight the coronavirus pandemic, the country's business giant Bashundhara Group provided 25 thousand face masks for members of the traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Sayem Sobhan Anvir, managing director of Bashundhara Group, and Safwan Sobhan Tasvir, its vice chairman handed over the masks to Md Saiful Haque, deputy commissioner of DMP (North traffic division) at a programme on Saturday.

Saiful Haque said traffic police have to work round the clock even amid the coronavirus outbreak in ensuring social distancing and maintaining traffic safety on roads. The masks given by Bashundhara Group will help the law enforcers keep themselves protected during this crisis.

''We are happy to provide the traffic police with these masks and Bashundhara Group is always ready to provide any assistance for police, Sayem Sobhan Anvir said.
