The number of covid-19 patients increased to nine as the death count from coronavirus infection stands at two in Barguna

Bargua district administration has announced lockdown starting from 12pm today after the number of covid-19 patients increased to nine including four new people diagnosed with coronavirus infection.

Currently, the death count from coronavirus stands at two in the district.

Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Barguna Civil surgeon Dr Humayun Shahin said, "One of the new patients died in the isolation ward of Barishal Sher-e-bangla Medical College Hospital on Friday."

"One is receiving treatment at a hospital and two are staying at home quarantine," he added referring the three other patients.

Among the four new infected, two were from Sadar upazila and one from the district's Bamna upazila and other from Betagi upazila.

Confirming the district lockdown, Barguna Deputy Commissioner Mostain Billah said that the contact tracing hunt and lockdown has begun to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
