Army distributes relief materials to unemployed, destitute

They distributed relief items to 3,279 families in need across the country.

The Bangladesh Army recently provided humanitarian assistance to the helpless and distressed, to address the hardships of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the country. 

Under the direction of Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, several military units distributed daily essentials - including rice, pulses, sugar, oil, flour, chickpea, potatoes, onions, soap and salt - to 3279 helpless families in the adjoining areas of cantonments across the country, said an ISPR press release. 

Army units at Ramu Cantonment, Bogra Cantonment, Shaheed Salahuddin Cantonment of Ghatail, Chattogram Cantonment, Rangamati and Khagrachhari region, Cumilla Cantonment, Mirpur Cantonment and Dhaka Cantonment distributed the relief items last week- from 30 April to 6 May.

The Bangladesh Army will continue providing humanitarian assistance in the future until the Covid-19 situation returns to normal.
