Another Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) officer has died from the novel coronavirus infection in the capital today.

The deceased is Sultanul Arefin, 44, a sub-inspector of the western division of the Public Order Management (POM) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police, says a press release.

Arefin was undergoing treatment at Central Police Hospital (CPH) in the capital's Rajarbagh. He breathed his last early Saturday at the hospital.

The body has been sent to his village, Jamalpur under the management of the police. His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held there in the presence of senior officers of the district police. Later, the body will be buried in the family graveyard.

Bangladesh has reported five officers of Bangladesh Police who passed away from the deadly virus so far.
