The government has suspended a UP chairman and two members for resorting to irregularities in the distribution of relief materials amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

The action was taken against Md Nurul Afsar, chairman of Mirzapur union parishad in Hathazari upazila of Chattogram; Md Shahin Shah, member of Sukash union parishad in Singra upazila of Natore, and Md Kabir Hossain, member of Pirojpur union parishad in Sonargaon upazila of Narayanganj.
 
Besides, show-cause notices were served seeking explanation within 10 working days as to why they should not be removed from their posts.
