Bangladeshi citizens intending to travel abroad and living in Dhaka will be able to give their samples for Covid-19 tests at the temporary coronavirus isolation centre at Mohakhali's DNCC Market.

The samples will be collected from 10 am to 4 pm every day, starting from July 20, a press release from the Directorate General of Health Services says on Sunday.

The initiative was taken by the Dhaka Civil Surgeon's office.

Similar initiatives will also be taken in 13 other districts, including Barisal, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Cumilla, Narayanganj, Khulna, Kushtia, Mymensingh, Bogura, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Rangpur and Sylhet.

The civil surgeon's office of each district will provide the time and place of sample collection. The sample collection is expected to begin in all districts from July 20.

The travellers will have to provide their samples 72 hours before a flight. They also need to show their passports and air tickets before giving samples and submit photocopies.

They need to pay Tk3,500 each as a Covid-19 testing fee. The samples will be tested in the government labs and the reports will be provided 24 hours before departure.
