So far, 10 policemen and seven others tested positive for coronavirus in the district

Eight people, including seven policemen, were diagnosed with coronavirus in Gopalganj, Civil Surgeon Dr Niaz Mohammad said Thursday.

He said so far, 10 policemen and seven others tested positive for coronavirus in the district.

The samples of 220 people were collected as of Wednesday and reports of 167 were received. Of them, 17 were positive.

Mohammad said the policemen are posted in Maksudpur uapzila. Of the rest, three are from Sadar upazila, three from Tungipara, and one from Kotalipara.

They have been kept in isolation centres.

Meanwhile, three women died while suffering from fever and cold. Their samples have been sent for coronavirus test.
