Bangladesh confirmed 35 more deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities to 4,447. 

With the new number, the death rate remained steady at 1.37% for a week. 

In the last 24-hour cycle, until Saturday 8am, 1,950 people tested Covid-19 positive against 12,847 samples.

The daily infection rate was 15.18% while the overall rate stood at 20%.

Also, 1,661 people recovered at that time while the recovery rate rose to 67.33% against the number of infected.  

Until now, 323,565 people have been identified as Covid-19 positive. Of them, more than 1.06 lakh people have still remained isolated or are undergoing treatment. 

Of the 35 deceased, 25 were men and 10 women. And 25 were above the age of 60.  

Twenty of them were from Dhaka division, six from Khulna, four from Chattogram, two from Rangpur, one each from Barishal, Sylhet and Mymensingh. 

Thirty-four of them died at hospital and one at home. 

So far, 3,479 men and 968 women have died from Covid-19 across the country. 

The Directorate General of Health Services revealed the latest numbers in a press release issued on Saturday.

Bangladesh confirmed the first Covid-19 case on March 8 and death from the virus on March 18.
