3 doctors lose battle against Coronavirus

At least three physicians have died of coronavirus in the last three days in the country.

The physicians were identified as - Dr Mohammad Hasan Murad, a medical officer of Chattogram Medical College Hosptial; Dr Abdul Mukit, former chief of Community Medicine Department at Rajshahi Medical College; and Dr Gazi Shafiqul Islam, a former student of Dhaka Medical College.

Shafiqul succumbed to the virus at United Hospital in Dhaka at 11:50pm on 19 December while Abdul Mukit at the RMCH on 20 December and Hasan Murad at Chattogram Parkview Hospital on 21 December.

President of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Dr Mustafa Jalam Mohiuddin and its General Secretary Dr Ehteshamul Haque Chowdhury have expressed deep shock and sorrow at the deaths and prayed forgiveness for the departed souls, said a press release.

They also extended condolence to the bereaved family members.
