CMP cop found Covid-19 positive after death

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) constable Mamun Uddin, who died with coronavirus symptoms on Wednesday, has been found positive for the virus after the test result came today. 

Assistant Inspector General Sohel Rana confirmed the matter to The Business Standard. 

With this, the death toll from the deadly virus stand to 17 in police, said sources of Police Headquarters on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh today confirmed 35 more deaths from the novel coronavirus and 2,423 new cases of infection testing 12,694 samples in the last 24 hours.

With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 781 and the number of total infections stood at 57,563.
