Previously, many Bangladeshis have returned from the border states such as West Bengal, Tripura, Assam with the help of Bangladesh Mission

A total of 164 stranded Bangladeshis returned from Chennai, India by air on Wednesday. 

A press release by the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi said that in the next couple of days, there would be other flights to bring home more Bangladeshis who went to Chennai for medical reasons.

Previously, many Bangladeshis have returned from the border states such as West Bengal, Tripura, Assam with the help of Bangladesh Mission. 

Before the Modi government imposed the nationwide lockdown on March 25, Bangladesh Missions opened up hotlines and helplines. According to their sources, 2,500 to 3,000 Bangladeshis are stuck in India due to the lockdown.

 
Recently, the Indian government approved that the old and sickly could return by air from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The embassy is working to bring back every willing Bangladeshi who is stuck in India in steps.  

About the students who are stuck amidst the lockdown, the high commission is talking to the educational institutes for the comfort of the students.
