Bangladesh Police have reported six police members died of the deadly virus so far, and all of them were posted in the DMP

As many as 1,448 policemen have been tested positive with the novel coronavirus in the country so far, and 708 of them are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Besides, Bangladesh Police have reported six police members died of the deadly virus so far, and all of them were posted in the DMP.

The six members are ASI Shree Raghunath Roy, ASI Sultanul Arefin, ASI Abdul Khaleque, traffic constable Ashek Mahmud, and constable Jasim Uddin. 

Until Friday, 98 policemen have recovered from the novel coronavirus, said sources at the police headquarters.

Around 2,870 police members are in home quarantine while 466 are in isolation.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Bangladesh confirmed seven more deaths from the novel coronavirus and 709 new cases of infection after testing 5,941 samples in 35 labs in the last 24 hours.

With this, the death toll from the deadly virus rose to 206 and the number of total infections stood at 13,134.
