Legal actions will be taken against anybody who does not follow this directive

Police have urged expatriates who have entered the country from March 1, to inform about their permanent address if it's different than the one mentioned in the passport.

A press release from the police headquarters said that most of the expatriates returning to the country within the period are not staying at the address mentioned in their passports. Rather they are wandering outside, which is very risky under these circumstances.

That is why, all the expatriates have been requested to inform their current contact number and address at the nearest police station. Also, anyone on behalf of them can also give the information to the police.

Sohel Rana, AIG, police headquarters confirmed the matter, saying, "Legal actions will be taken against anybody who does not follow this directive under Infectious Diseases (Prevention, Control and Elimination) Act, 2018. Also, their passports will be rescinded if necessary."
