Pathao has relaunched "Tong", an on-demand essentials delivery service, in response to the coronavirus pandemic as it is committed to keeping its customers, partners and communities safe.

Users can now order daily necessities (packaged drinks and food, dairy products, health, and hygiene products) and non-prescription medicine from Pathao, to be delivered to their doorsteps in less than 40 minutes.

Tong can be accessed by going to the Food tile in the Pathao app and then to the Tong section.

Pathao has also enabled contactless delivery of all orders that are paid digitally.

Pathao's delivery agents have been trained to stand at least three feet away from the door of a household they are delivering at or to leave the parcel at a designated spot decided by the user.

Digital Payment is available and encouraged in order to minimise unrequired human interaction. Payment may be completed using visa, debit cards and wallets of mobile financial services.

The digital platform has distributed safety gear to its riders, delivery agents and foodmen to make sure that they stay safe while serving its customers.

Pathao team has regularly been disseminating awareness messages and training to its riders, foodmen and delivery agents to maintain a strict hygiene code for their own safety.

Pathao is also collaborating with different organisations which are working for the collective security for the society in these challenging times by sending them financial aid.

Hussain M Elius, chief executive officer of Pathao, said, "We continue to collaborate with the ICT Ministry, a2i, different government bodies, e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (eCAB), and other industry colleagues to ensure that a critical supply chain is maintained."

"We will proactively communicate with you if we anticipate any impact on our ability to serve you. This is an unprecedented event and uncertain times, and the only way we can go through this is by staying together. Thank you for being with Pathao," he added.
