Xiaomi supports 500 underprivileged families with food, Eid supplies

Xiaomi, a global brand of technology, today supported five hundred underprivileged families with food and Eid supplies in the holy month of Ramadan.

Xiaomi in partnership with JAAGO foundation is conducting a drive called "Eid Khushi" to help the Covid-affected people for over 7 days, reads a press release.

On this occasion, Country General Manager of Xiaomi Bangladesh, Ziauddin Chowdhury said, "The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted the way of life for everyone around the world. It tested our resilience, flexibility, responsiveness and most of all - our unity and spirit. As we continue to grapple with the after-effects of the pandemic, we at Xiaomi wanted to extend our support to five hundred underprivileged families on the joyous occasion of Eid."

JAAGO Foundation will utilize the immense youth potential to help the impoverished community and spread the spirit of Ramadan during this drive.

In the past, Xiaomi has taken proactive measures and donated medical supplies to some of the most affected areas around the world including Bangladesh. Last year, as part of the Covid 19 response and initiative, Xiaomi donated Tk4 million to the government including Tk2 million to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund.
