The country's leading electronics company Walton on Saturday inaugurated its VRF (variable refrigerant flow) AC manufacturing factory.

By setting up this factory, Bangladesh has become the world's 9th country having VRF technology-based AC manufacturing factory.

National Board of Revenue (NBR) Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem inaugurated the company's new production line as the chief guest at the Walton factory premises in Chandra of Gazipur district, said a media statement issued by the company.

During his visit, Muneem also unveiled 'Six a Nine'— a new model of Walton's Smart Refrigerator.

The Internet of Things (IoT) based new Smart Refrigerator is designed with advanced features so that users can control or operate its functions by his or her mobile phone.

Meanwhile, Muneem also unveiled six new models of Walton Television, TV's Digital Warranty Software and a new model of laptop named 'Tamarind EX Pro.'

Speaking at the event, NBR Chairman said, Compressor is a hi-tech product and Walton is now manufacturing all sorts of components as well as finished compressors.

He also said the government will give the company policy supports so that it could compete with global brands to manufacture advanced air conditioners.

Earlier, the NBR chairman was welcomed with a flower bouquet where Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rezvi, Managing Director SM Ashraful Alam and Director SM Rezaul Alam were present.
Among others, WHIL Deputy Managing Directors Nazrul Islam Sarker and Alamgir Alam Sarker, Chief Financial Officer Abul Bashar Howlader, Executive Directors Shoaib Hossain Nobel, Md Humayun Kabir, Uday Hakim, Tanvir Rahman, Yusuf Ali, Liakat Ali and Amin Khan, Deputy Executive Directors Md Firoj Alam and Jahidul Islam, were present there

The NBR chairman enjoyed a corporate presentation on Walton and then visited the product display center and the production units of refrigerators, compressors, air conditioners, LED televisions, computers, laptops, mobile phones and other home, kitchen and electrical appliances.
