State minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated a declaration programme titled 'Walton Laptop Stay Home Offer at Walton e-Plaza' on Monday, said a press release.

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited has launched the campaign in order to facilitate consumers in purchasing various IT products staying at home avoiding the risk of coronavirus infection.

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited Chairman SM Rezaul Alam presided over the virtual function while Managing Director SM Monjurul Alam and Walkart Limited Managing Director Sabiha Jarin Orona were also present on the occasion as special guests.

The state minister as chief guest said, "Walton has created trust among customers towards 'Made in Bangladesh' labelled products. Over 90 percent of the people are choosing Walton products. I am also using Walton laptop."

"Walton is our pride. Walton has gained fame on only in Bangladesh but worldwide. I believe by 2041, Walton Digi-Tech will lead Bangladesh in the global digital economy. The government will provide all kinds of assistance," he said.

Palak further said that people can easily buy their required products staying at home which is a great initiative in the time of corona pandemic through Walton laptop stay home offer.

Walton Digi-Tech Industries always takes new initiatives which contributes to the development of country's digital economy. In the Covid situation, when many of the world's leading companies are being forced to lay off workers, Walton has recruited 5,000 new employees. This is really very praiseworthy, he added.

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Executive Director Azizul Hakim hosted the online event was marked with the presence of its AMD Abul Bashar Hawlader, DMD Nazrul Islam Sarkar, Eva Rezwana Nilu, Amdadul Haque Sarkar, Humayun Kabir and Alamgir Alam Sarkar, Plaza Trade CEO Mohammad Rayhan, Walton Digital Product Division CEO Engineer Liakat Ali, Executive Directors SM Zahid Hasan, Uday Hakim, Firoj Alam, Zeenat Hakim and Adnan Afzal.

Walton authorities said, at present, there are different models of Walton laptops, desktops, all-in-one PCs, monitors, tablet PCs, keyboards, mouse, pen drives, memory cards, RAMs, SSDs, external SSDs, cables, digital writing pads, earphones, Wi-Fi router, UPS, power supply unit, USB hub, speaker etc.

Walton will soon launch printers, webcams, networking switches, projectors, power banks and many more IT devices in the market, they added.
