Turtle venture presents “She Loves Tech, 2020” Bangladesh finale took place

On 25th October, 2020, the finale of  "She Loves Tech, 2020" Bangladesh, organised by Turtle Venture took place. This is the 6th Annual Global Startup Competition which was held fully virtual this year and the finale was telecasted live on the official Facebook pages of She Loves Tech and Turtle Venture at 12:00pm Bangladesh Time, hosted by Tamannah M Afrose and Afrin Kamal, business Development Executives of Turtle Venture. 

On She Loves Tech BD 2020 Pitch Event Turtle Venture invited Honorable State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Information and Technology Division as Chief Guest; Tina F. Jabeen, the Managing Director & CEO, Startup Bangladesh Ltd, ICT Ministry, Govt. of Bangladesh as special guest and the Country Ambassador of She Loves Tech and Founder and CEO of Turtle Venture, Saraban Tahura Turin was present, who coordinated this whole event till the success. They announced "Cookups Technologies Ltd." as the Champion Startup from Bangladesh for this year who is going to represent Bangladesh in the Global round.

As Judges, who selected the top startup to join the global bootcamp and grand final in November, there were Asif Uddin Ahmed, Acting director, EMK center; Fayez Ahmed, Youth Programme and Youth Co:Lab Coordinator and consultant, UNDP Bangladesh; Bijon Islam, CEO, LightCastle Partners and Salsalbeel Khan, Investment Associate, Anchorless Bangladesh. 

This whole event was supported by ICT Division, Bangladesh, Startup Bangladesh Ltd, UNDP Youth Co:Lab, EMK Center, LightCastle Partners, YOUTH HUB, Women in Digital, DHAKA CAST, Startup Chattogram, Learning 101, Senoark and Mechanic কই? promoting female entrepreneurs through She Loves Tech Bangladesh 2020.

This year around 63 teams participated in the Bangladesh round which empowers women, led by women or impacts women, and that let them to connect with the best tech entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate partners at the world's largest startup competition for women and technology. Throughout this 4months, 10 Startups were chosen competing for national recognition and joined the global bootcamp and grand final in November. Among them the top 5 teams who got selected are Cookups Technologies Ltd, Bonton Connects, Wander Women, Beshideshi and Teek Taka and finally "Cookups Technologies Limited'' got the championship in Bangladesh. 

She Loves Tech is hosting rounds in over 30 countries covering North & South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Over 2000 startups have joined this competition over the last 5 years, with winners getting exclusive coverage from the media and access to global network of investors. 

The global winner will receive an equity-free cash prize of US$15,000 from SLT affiliate fund, Teja Ventures, special media and mentorship prizes, fast track access to partner funds and accelerator programs, and in-house advisory services. 

Turtle Venture successfully accomplished this national round led by Saraban Tahura Turin and wishes all the participants a very best of luck for the journey ahead and congratulates "Cookups Technologies Ltd" for being the champion of She Loves Tech 2020 Bangladesh round.
