Robi wins CommunicAsia 2020 Awards

Robi Axiata Limited, the second largest mobile network operator in Bangladesh, won a global award recently for its innovative initiatives to serve its consumers and enterprise customers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mobile operator won the Singapore-based, CommunicAsia 2020 Awards in the 'Telecom Service Innovation in Response to the Covid-19' category, read a press release issued by the company.

According to the press release, immediately after Covid-19 entered Bangladesh, Robi quickly took several initiatives to help its customers cope with the pandemic, including digital healthcare products, such as Health-Plus and LifePlus.

In order to make health services more accessible and affordable to the public, the telecom operator also introduced a mobile-based healthcare model mirrored after the Uber model, and a special COVID insurance package, the press release continued.

Robi's premiere online ticketing platform, bdtickets, had launched the first ever "Covid Travel Insurance" in Bangladesh, which greatly helped the country's transportation industry ravaged by the Corona pandemic, the press release added.
