Grameenphone has invited applications to build a coders' community as part of Digital Ninja Codemasters 2020.

The initiative would connect local developers and empower them to apply digital skills to develop solutions that matter most to customers, according to a press release.

As a connectivity partner in the Digital Bangladesh journey, Grameenphone is continuously collaborating to upskill and build capabilities to meet digitalisation and new-normal customers' needs.

The Digital Ninja Codemasters hackathon is due to help Grameenphone identify competent coders and developers to achieve modernisation and digitalisation ambitions, it read.

Developers from Android Application Development, iOS Application Development, Backend Development, Quality Assurance, and Business Analyst will get an opportunity to develop solutions, win or become part of exciting projects.

"The online webinar for Codemasters will be held on 25 November, 2020, where the guest speakers can influence and inspire the participants about the career landscape in this field in the country," the press release explained.

"Afterwards, 'Hackathon Part 1' will occur on 5 December, 2020, and 'Hackathon Part 2' will transpire on 11 December, 2020," read the statement.

Syed Tanvir Husain, chief human resources officer at Grameenphone, said, "In the realm of the fourth industrial revolution, digital skills are becoming critical to sustaining change and remaining relevant to our purpose."

He continued, "This effort will inspire local coders and developers, enable us to develop solutions, create employment opportunities, and also help us acquire future capabilities from the local market to contribute to realising the vision of Digital Bangladesh."

Grameenphone will select one winner and one runner-up from each category where the winners will be rewarded Tk100,000, and the runner-up will receive Tk50,000, it read.
