Taufika Foods to change company name

It will hold an online EGM on 24 May to secure approval from the relevant authorities

Taufika Foods and Agro Industries Limited, an ice cream maker and marketer with the brand name Lovello, will change its name to Taufika Foods and Lovello Ice-cream PLC, or some other name available, with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms.

The company will also make amendments in the relevant clauses of its Memorandum and Articles of Association.

In this regard, the company will hold an online extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on 24 May to secure approval from shareholders, stock market regulators, and other regulatory authorities. The record date of the EGM will be 29 April.

After the decision of its board of directors meeting, the company disclosed this information on the websites of the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

Taufika Foods was listed on both stock exchanges in 2021, and the trading of its shares commenced on 10 February under the 'N' category.

In the first half of fiscal 2020-2021, the company made a profit of Tk2.74 crore and its earnings per share stood at Tk0.50, which was Tk3.20 crore and Tk0.58 respectively for the same time period in the prior fiscal year.
