A new bulk freighter with the capacity of 56,014 dwt (deadweight tonnage) has joined the SR Shipping fleet.

The newly included vessel - Jahan Brothers II - was built in 2008.

SR Shipping Deputy Managing Director Sarwar Jahan said they have already received the vessel.

"The latest purchase will enable us to address the growing needs of our customers for marine-based transportation of bulk cargo," he added.

SR Shipping, a sister concern of the country's leading rerolling steel mill KSRM, started its journey in 2004 with the first vessel MV Fatema Jahan.

"All the SR Shipping vessels are managed by the Brave Royal Ship Management (BD) Ltd and maintained in the highest standard," said a press release on Monday.
