IDLC Finance Olympiad ends

The gala round of the second season of online finance quiz competition titled "IDLC Finance Olympiad 2.0" was held at Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the capital on Friday.

In the final segment, six contestants emerged victorious.

Each of the winners won a paid trip to Bali with a friend, laptop, smartphone, trophy, medal and a certificate, said a press release.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over the prizes to the winners as the chief guest.

Students aged 14 to 24 from all over Bangladesh participated in this Olympiad, organised by The non-bank financial institution IDLC Finance Limited.

Popular online school Robi-10 Minute School served as a knowledge partner of this initiative.

Over 40,000 participants registered and participated in the online finance Olympiad from September 15 to October 6. After registration, participants had to answer 10 quizzes after watching 10 different educational videos related to personal financing.

Among the participants, top 100 contestants were shortlisted for the offline final round. On Friday, the top 100 went through a written exam and a buzzer round, leading to the selection of the six winners.

Arif Khan, chief executive officer and managing director of IDLC Finance Limited, said, "Being a part of the financial sector for over 34 years, we believe the IDLC has a responsibility to impart knowledge and help enhance skills of the youth on financial literacy all across the nation."

He said they organised the competition for the second time being motivated by the overwhelming response in the first season.
