The Entrepreneurs' Organization, Bangladesh chapter Wednesday declared this year's Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) programme for the country's student entrepreneurs to compete globally and clinch an international award worth $40 thousand.
The competition's semifinals will be held on January 7 and 8 in the capital with the finale scheduled for January 11 at RTV Studio in the capital, says a press release.
The student entrepreneurs can register their projects till January 1. Then, the top contestants from the country would be sent to Cape Town, South Africa for challenging the best student entrepreneurs from across the world at the GSEA Global Finals.
Details of the competition were revealed Wednesday at a press conference held at a city hotel where Entrepreneurs' Organization Bangladesh President and Aman Spinning Mill Ltd Vice Chairman Tahsin Aman and GSEA Chair and Kazi IT Center Ltd CEO Mike Kazi spoke.
Tahsin Aman said the international competition is an initiative of Entrepreneurs' Organization for transforming an aspiring student entrepreneur into a complete entrepreneur by providing much-needed mentorship, recognition and connections. "Our vision is to empower student entrepreneurs for becoming the world's most influential changemakers," he added.
Mike Kazi said GSEA supports struggling student entrepreneurs to take their businesses to the next level of success.
The national-level competition of GSEA, organised every year is considered to be a flagship program of Entrepreneurs' Organization Bangladesh while over the years, participating students have gone on to create thousands of jobs and generate millions in revenue, the GSEA chair added.
Entrepreneurs' Organization Bangladesh President-elect and Membership Chair Zareen Mahmud and Spellbound Leo Burnett co-founder and Chairman Gazi Golam Sarower also spoke at the press conference.
Spellbound will conduct the GSEA 2020 with Independent University, Bangladesh, American International University of Bangladesh, United International University and University of Liberal Arts of Bangladesh providing support as strategic partners and RTV as media partner.
The Entrepreneurs' Organization is a global business network of more than 14 thousand leading entrepreneurs working in 193 chapters in 60 countries to make changes in the global youth community.
GSEA is a premier global competition for students who own and operate a business while attending college or university. Toppers from individual countries become nominees in the global rounds to compete against their peers from around the world in hopes of winning the final prize.
