The company’s operations chief has said wearing a mask correctly, covering both the mouth and nose, can save lives

International Beverages Private Limited (IBPL) will distribute masks, at 25 points across the country, in the next few months to fight the second wave of Covid-19, read a press release.

Coca-Cola, the international beverage brand, has initiated a countrywide campaign to inspire people to wear masks and share its support for the government's move to enforce strict mask-wearing rules amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Tapas Kumar Mondal, managing director of IBPL, which has been operating the business of Coca-Cola in Bangladesh, inaugurated the social initiative at a scaled-down event in Gulshan 1 in the capital on Saturday.

Regarding the initiative, IBPL Managing Director Tapas Kumar Mondal said, "Wearing a mask is a good practice which can save lives by capping infections."

He also emphasised the importance of wearing a mask correctly – covering both the mouth and nose.

Operating in Bangladesh with cent percent foreign direct investment, Coca-Cola employs over 800 people directly and provides employment to over 3,000, stated the press release.

Maintaining the secret taste of Coca-Cola products, the company produces a few beverage products in a state-of-the art manufacturing plant in Mymensingh.

Coca-Cola's beverages include: Coca-Cola, Diet Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Kinley Water, Kinley Soda, Coca-Cola Zero, Sprite Zero, and Thums Up Current.
