Brac hosts Spring Festival in Cox’s Bazar

The Humanitarian and Crisis Management Programme (HCMP) of Brac, one of the largest non-governmental organisations in the world, celebrated the Basanta Utshab (Spring Festival) by holding a cultural programme and Pitha Utshab in Cox's Bazar.       

The festival began with the singing of Rabindra Sangeet at HCMP's area office in the district on Monday, said a media statement.

Hasne Ara Begum, technical head of Gender-Based Violence; Kirtee Bejoya, HCMP admin officer; and Borhan Mahmud, deputy project manager under HCMP; among others were present at the occasion.

The Pitha Utshab began at the beach in the afternoon. Hasina Akhter Huq, area director of HCMP, inaugurated the event. 

Different types of pithas – such as naksi, puli, pati shapta, and moda – were available at the festival.

Mohammed Norul Alam Raju, programme head of HCMP and Md Abdul Matin Shardar, head of host community of HCMP were also present at the event.

The event was held so that Brac employees could share their joy among themselves along with their professional activities, the media release read.
