BRAC Bank holds annual fire drill

BRAC Bank Limited (BBL) has organised its annual "fire drill" with the help of Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defense.
The simulated emergency procedure took place at the bank's head office in the city's Tejgaon area on 25 November, said a press release.
BRAC Bank Head of GSS and Procurement Brigadier General Tushar Kanti Chakma (Retd.) said: "At BRAC Bank, we follow a rigorous Fire Safety and Emergency Evacuation procedure. We conduct fire drills to be able to detect fire at an early stage. It also helps in establishing a systematic and orderly evacuation plan, limiting the risk, mitigating the damage with the help of existing equipment primarily preserved at the premises, and ensuring the safety of our people and the premises against fire".
The branch offices of BRAC Bank are also check the fire safety equipment as per the Department of Safety and Security (DSS) and submit a report to DSS by the first week of each month.
"Our branches also conduct fire drills twice a year - once with the local fire service and civil defense authority and the other by itself", he added.
The fire drill was organised to create awareness among employees and to practice emergency fire incidents, especially as the winter approaches with dry weather.
Employees from different departments of the BBL head office took part in the fire drill.
