Biman to start flights on Dhaka-Manchester route
The secretary said Biman will launch a number of new routes soon
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate direct flights in Dhaka-Manchester route by January of 2020.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already approved the new route of the National flag-carrier. The airlines is now finalising its preparation to connect the northwest English city to the route network.
M Mohibul Haque, civil aviation and tourism secretary, has revealed the information.
The secretary said Biman will launch a number of new routes soon.
The secretary came up with the assertion at a meeting with visiting Mayor of Greater Manchester Andrew Murray Burnham in Dhaka. British High Commissioner to Dhaka Robert Chatterton Dickson was also present at the meeting.
Burnham assured that he will extend all out support to Bangladesh for establishing the direct air connectivity and hoped that Biman will be able to operate its Dhaka-New York flight via Manchester soon.
Mentioning that currently Biman's fleet consists of modern aircraft like Boeing's Dreamliner 787, Secretary Mohibul Haque said the national flag carrier will open number of new destinations for ensuring utmost use of its airplanes.
