American Alumni Association holds AGM, executive council election

The annual general meeting and the executive council election of American Alumni Association (AAA) for the term 2021 - 2023 were held on 24 April.

The association has elected Nusrat Feroz Aman, the CEO and co-founder of Ayat Education, as president of the AAA for the second term. She is also the first female president of the association in its 24-year-history, reads a press release.

Zuhayr Reaz, business development and sales director of Visual Communication Ltd and director of Punji Ventures Ltd, and Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed, the chief executive officer at the American Bangladesh Center for Development Excellence (ABCDE), were elected as the secretary and treasurer, respectively.

Joya Kabir, the co-founder and chairman of Sea Natural Foods Limited, and A Farjad Ahmed, ex-banker of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), were elected as members of the EC.

The AAA election was moderated by an election commission formed with eminent professionals and highly esteemed AAA members.

The election commissioners were Dr ATM Shamsul Huda (chief election commissioner), Dr Niaz Zaman and Mubasher Munaf Moin.

The American Alumni Association of Bangladesh (AAA) is an association of graduates of American colleges and universities. The organization seeks to promote fellowship among American graduates, to assist its members to develop careers that use their abilities and education, and to maintain a database of skills that can be furnished to domestic and international users.

The AAA also manages computer-based testing center in Dhaka for students taking TOEFL, GRE and U.S. Medical Licensing Examinations for applying to American universities. AAA is registered as a non-profit company under the Companies Act in Bangladesh.
