Akij stands beside Covid-19 fighters

Millions of people in Bangladesh are facing the heat of the Covid-19 global pandemic. During this time, thousands of policemen, doctors, and nurses are fighting to their best for the cure of patients and the safety of others.

Considering the issue, the country's business giant Akij Group has come forward to stand beside these fighters, said a press release on Saturday.

In this regard, for the protection of medical professionals, Akij has provided medical equipment and financial assistance for Kurmitola General Hospital which is dedicated to coronavirus-related services.

Sheikh Jamil Uddin, director of Akij Textile Mills Limited, handed over the materials to Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed, director of the hospital and Lieutenant Colonel Abdul Wahab, its assistant director.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Police is working tirelessly to ensure social distancing everywhere in the country. While carrying out this duty, many policemen have been infected with the virus.

Considering their efforts, Akij Food and Beverages Limited distributed masks and spa drinking water among the policemen of the Dhaka range.

Akij Group Chairman Sheikh Nasir Uddin handed over the materials to Dhaka Range DIG Habibur Rahman recently, while Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed was present there.
