The country's electronic giant Walton has inaugurated a campaign in collaboration with Beximco Communications, under which new purchasers of Walton televisions will receive a 10% cashback on AKASH DTH subscription fees.

The campaign was launched on 20th of December and will run till 31 January 2021.

The two companies jointly announced the launch of this campaign at a webinar on Sunday.

Beximco's direct-to-home (DTH) satellite service venture AKASH went on air in May 2019. In DTH, TV channels are transmitted via satellite to a small dish antenna mounted on the window or rooftop of the subscriber's home.

Campaign sources said customers will be included in the campaign based on their TV serial numbers and other pertinent information provided.

Under the campaign, subscribers of AKASH Basic, will avail a Tk400 cashback upon payment of the one-time subscription fee of Tk3,999.

On the other hand, buyers of Walton televisions will avail a cashback of Tk450 on the one-time regular subscription fee of AKASH Regular, which is Tk4,499.

Shayan F Rahman, chairman of Beximco Communications said, "The two companies have jointly launched this campaign in a bid to change the television-viewing experience of customers. The use of technology has increased multifold during this pandemic. We have launched this campaign to provide customers with a better technology experience."

With this collaboration of the country's two leading companies, customers will be able to enjoy the ultimate experience of television watching, he added.

SM Nurul Alam Rezvi, chairman of Walton Group, said AKASH DTH is increasing in popularity across the country thanks to its quality services. As Walton envisions to provide the buyers of its televisions with superior picture quality, this collaboration will play an effective role to this end.

According to sources, the campaign will run in Walton Plazas, and Walton's stand-alone outlets across the country. Customers buying Walton televisions from these outlets and subscribing to AKASH DTH will be able to avail this cashback offer.

AKASH DTH started providing its service from May last year, using feed from the Bangabandhu satellite-1. It is available in all 64 districts and can be viewed from any corner of Bangladesh at a consistent quality.
