Abdur Rahman appointed CAPA committee chairman

Confederation of Asian and Pacific Accountants (CAPA) has appointed Md Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA, as the chairman of Public Sector Financial Management Committee (PSFMC) for the term 2020-2023. 

He also served this particular committee of CAPA as a member during 2016-2019 term, said a press release on Thursday. 

The Public Sector Financial Management Committee (PSFMC) is a working committee formed to provide input and recommendations to the board regarding strategies and activities for CAPA to pursue. 

Such activities are aligned to CAPA's vision, mission and objectives with respect to influencing the development of public sector financial management related matters and promoting the benefits of high quality financial management and reporting in the public sector.

CAPA is a regional organization representing thirty-three national professional accountancy organizations (PAOs) from twenty-four jurisdictions that have an interest in the Asia-Pacific region. 

These organizations are from countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand, China, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan etc.

Abdur Rahman is a government bureaucrat who is serving as Joint Secretary of Finance Ministry of Bangladesh. He is a council member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) and also served ICMAB as Secretary for several times.
